Event Planning Considerations
Things to plan - and know - before booking a balloon-twisting or cosplay performance.
- Date & Time of event.
- Location - If the event is to take place outdoors,
is there a backup plan in case of inclement weather? Rain, hail,
lightning, or powerful winds have the potential to create a
number of serious safety issues in addition to performance problems.
This is particularly important for balloon-twisting events,
as rain or strong winds will put an end to outdoor balloon work
(balloons are ruined if they get wet before being used/twisted, and are next to impossible
to shape/twist in the wind).
- Length of Time for Booking - How Much Time Will be Needed.
One of the things to consider when planning your event and
looking to incorporate a balloon twister, is the amount of
time that will be needed to provide balloon animals/figures
for everyone attending your event.
- Obviously the most important factor is the number of children
that will be present: 10 children, or 25 children, or 100 children
will all need significantly different amounts of
time for balloons to be created for everyone.
- The amount of time needed also depends in part on the types of
balloon animal/figures that are made. Each balloon creation takes
it's particular amount of time: some designs may only take a
minute or two (examples: swords, monkeys, butterflies), while other
designs may take 3 or 4 minutes (examples: superheros, mermaids, roses),
and other designs can take several minutes (examples: princesses,
fairies, unicorns) to complete. On average, considering a general
mix of faster & slower creations, roughly
15-20 balloon figures can be made per hour.
- Also remember that a certain amount of time is spent in speaking
with each child to identify what kind of balloon animal they would
like, what balloon colors, and just interacting in general.
- Allergies - All balloons used in the balloon-twisting designs
are made of high-quality, pure, natural latex from rubber tree plants
(100% biodegradable). Some individuals are allergic to latex,
therefore be sure to advise all event attendees that latex balloons will be present.
- Photos
- I respect the privacy of my clients and all guests/attendees. Because most events are private functions - and especially when there are children attending/involved - it is my policy not to take or use photos/recordings from the event in any commercial manner, including my website, unless the client specifically grants such permission.
- As I state in my various performance packages descriptions, event attendees are free to take unlimited number of photos of me at the event. I specifically grant release to anyone attending the event to photograph/record me for any and all noncommercial purposes.
- Please note that I have no control over any photos your guests/attendees may take during the event - including pictures of other guests, children, etcetera - nor how your guests may use such photos (such as posting on social media).
